Ulul Albab ·
"Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of night and day are signs for people of deep understanding." — Qur'an 3:190
The Ulul Albab — people of deep understanding — are those who observe creation and find in it evidence of God. For centuries, Muslim scholars did exactly this: they read the heavens, mapped the earth, healed the body, and asked the hard questions.
This catalog is an educational resource and an act of recovery — offered to educators, students, and anyone who has been told that faith and knowledge do not belong together.
The Catalog · In the Steps of Ulul Albab
Before Copernicus, there was Ibn al-Shatir. Before Newton, there were centuries of scholars who answered one command: Iqrā. This is their story.

A science educator, researcher, and writer at the intersection of faith and knowledge.
"I wrote the book I needed, and could not find, at my lowest point."
Dr. Vivian A. Zohery holds her PhD in Science Education from the University of Maryland, College Park. Her research focuses on decolonizing STEM education, exploring the intersection of faith and science, and amplifying the voices of Muslim women in STEM through participatory action research.
As the principal investigator of the SiSTEM project, she has led research that bridges the gap between faith, identity, and STEM. She holds a Master's degree in Science Education and a Bachelor's in Physiology and Neurobiology with a minor in Astronomy.
She is a dedicated educator, teaching Quran and Islamic studies to youth and volunteering at the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum. She is currently completing her post-doc with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Scheller Teacher Education Program.
Her writing is personal, warm, and grounded in storytelling — the voice of someone who has asked the hard questions from the inside. She also writes The Muslimah Scientist — a Substack on faith, science, and Muslim identity.
Revivify is her first book. Faith & Formula, Eye of Certainty, and Science with a Soul are in progress.
A participatory action research team of Muslim women at UMD, College Park — investigating the intersection of Islamic values, STEM identity, and the experiences of Muslim women in Western academic spaces. Dr. Zohery serves as Principal Investigator.
